is there a way to update the icons in this programs. i don't like the xp looking icons.

yes, i know, but the old xp type icons do play a mental affect in my mind. can't help it.

Usually you can for most programs, using a resource editor (sometimes you have to unpack it first).

Then surely you must love the win 3.1-like icons in 7zip ;) I find imgburn looks alright, but I truly can't stand 7zip's god awful look.

I haven't used 7-zip that much; I use winrar. I should start using 7-zip since it comes in the 64-bit variety and I usually use winrar to extract, rather than create rar volumes.

the tango icons in 7-zip look great. i have that theme for winrar.

the gui, icons play a mental trick, doesn't it. yes, looks are important to me.

when xp first came out, it was like, wow! the icons are awesome. but now, it's like, ewww! vista icons are much better.
