Basically i'm about to install Vista SP1 Slipstreamed on my spare PC..as the PC only has 20GB of HD i'm kinda want to know if i could slim down Vista so that it won't take as much HD space as normal..i want to be sure as 100% what are to be kept and what are to be removed. Hope you guys have this kind of experience & knowledge..coz i really don't want to mess the OS up.Thanks.

What are the rest of the specs of the PC in question?
Seems to me if it's only got a 20gig drive in it, the Vista (Even vLited) will run like molasses on it.

Intel Pentium 4 2.8ghz..20GB Western Digital(3yr old)..3GB RAM..Asus P5Q Turbo..this computer will be used only for wordprocessing..planning to give it away to my girlfriend..there will be no networking..no gaming..a bit of multimedia - mp3 & movies etc..it will be used for work mainly..i had this PC for 3yrs now..so any help on slimming down the fat lady Vista?

Best way is to read and decide if you need the components.
Most important things to remove are
All asian laguages - 1GB
All printer drivers - 700mb
Games - 300MB
Speech suport 1GB
and native speech support 700MB

if i remove the printer drivers i wont be able to use printers anymore or need to manually install the driver, right?
so i would leave them imo

This is my best setting / component removed for my PC p4 3.0 sct 478
(safe for removing) work fine for me.
