Well fellow hardware geeks i did it i built the datacenterserver with quad xeon chips at 3ghz and usd four 300gig hard dives no video card needed as the board had on board one 10gigs of mem and then you know what left it at my house with my brother who is a network specalist and programer this guy goes and pulls a gone in 60sec's on me i went away for awhile over the christmas holiday and new year come home it's gone call him and he's like i dont know goto his house and he usin it to compile programs and thing i had no idea it could do that so im left with a hole in my bank and im about to now build another machine more basic than the one he boosted from me looking more into a amd rig what do you guys feel about the optoron and these 800mz p4's i have read about been leanning to the optoron

That's no excuse. Anything hardware related goes to the Hardware Hangout.

Number one, your brother stole it from you? Who would build a computer that great, and not BOLT IT TO YOUR OWN LEG, or some piece of furniture that's not easily moved? Or at least protect it with 10 login/security programs so if it was stolen, it'd be useless? Or at least sink a few more bucks into a biometric fingerprint scanner. Come on, this story is looking like BS to me.
Why would I think this is BS? Customized a server with LOWER specs (Quad Xeon 2.8 GHz, only 8 gigs mem, 5 x 146 gig hard drives) and with all the basics in everything else, and guess what, it cost $33,000. Now lets say you argue that building it is cheaper. Alright, we'll say you save $8,000 (huge overestimate), the computer is now $25,000. 25 grand for a computer, and you couldn't spend the extra $500 to get some kick-a** security system?
No offense man, if you're telling the truth, then I'm sorry, but I can't help being skeptical.

well if he stole it form you, beat his a**, and steal it back, it doesn't take much common sense.

heh, i agree with techguy, if i had a brother that even took one of my normal pc's from me w/o my permission i'd give him the beating of his life, especially if it was a server like that.

Guy's im pullin your chain about him taking my server but as for the parts i have most of it already and im not even sure if i want to build the dam thing any more
it's turnning out to be a pain in the a** and money out the a** as well might just have to settle on a smaller project don't know

No SupaFly-TNT I have the part's he has the software and he's been bugin me to build it i don't know if's even fesabel why build a machine that one you can run games on it's main thing will be like a personal super computer but i have yet to find any justafcatio to build that dang thing in the begainning it seem cool as hell
but now i don't know and besides if you do build it as soon as you done it's old tech and out dam dated so im thinking of building something more for a true home user than a **** corparation who the hell has a datacenter serve in there home that's running nasa from your bed room it don't fit so i must ponder and make the wises choice for me and my bank roll not the coolness factor any more

I think it would be "cool" to have one, and with all that power your not gonna be outdated really, but I personally would rather just have dual proc 64bit system which would def be cool.
