Hi can anyone help me out on this I have created my own Winnt.sif file and have just tested it, however windows xp setup boots from cd, and i have been prompted to install windows or recover, and the option to repartistion and format has not been followed, below is a copy of my winnt.sif file which is placed into the I386 folder.

***UPDATE***

I am now been asked for all other settings, its not using the WINNT.SIF file??

any help????

Cant really see whats wrong with your WINNT.SIF file, although, I am presuming that it does not have the .TXT extention. The file should be saved as a SIF file only.
Have a look at my WINNT.SIF attached. I have no problem with it.
Hope this helps.

I had the same problem awhile back. It turned out it had nothing to do with XPCREATE. I think it might actually be a Harddrive issue, even if regular checks on it might say all is fine.
I first ZERO'ed out my HD with KILLDISK (takes a couple of hours), reinstalled WINXP and didnt have any problems since.
I am not saying that the above might be your issue, only that you might want to have a good look at your hardware.

::EDIT::

Other thing you might want to try is updating your BIOS and checking whether the settings are correct.

Sorry for the silence, though I have been noting the errors ...

Things got a little out of hand with the last release, so the whole XPCREATE codebase was ripped apart. I'm putting the pieces back one at a time, checking as I go, and progres is being made, in that the basic engine seems to be solid. Now just to put back some of the features that you have come to know and love ... (anyone object if we go command line again ... )

However, there is still a ways to go before I post any new version. Probably this weekend, so I can test a maximum before getting swamped with support calls again, and it will be a little "lighter" than what is out there now.

What is out there now will work for many, and there are work-arounds for some of that which is broken. In a few hours I will go over the last few days posts, and post any quick answers I have, but I will not be digging back into the code you are using, so I will not be updating it, as such.

Thanks for your help and patience, and please continue to post any anomalies you notice, so I can check that I fixed them for the next release.

Was MIA, now AWOL.

Edit: He slipped in a post before me, fast too! End Edit

Taking into account GreenMachine’s obsessive\compulsive nature, he is probably reworking XPcreate to look something like the Mars Rover. It will parachute into your local area, retrieve the proper CDs by searching your work desk, and spit out a slipsteamed upgrade without human intervention. (Thus eliminating user error) :)

How to have SVC-X2M\langpack.exe (.NET Framework language pack v1.1) to be installed AFTER SVC-X2M\dotnetfx.exe (.NET Frameworks 1.1) ?

Does anybody has a solution?
I will try to put it in RO-X2M\.

Same question to have HFTYPE2\Q330994 (OE6 SP1) BEFORE Q820223?

This problem has been solved by placing Q820223 SVC-CUS\ :)
But I will try now to put it in RO-HF2\ just to don't have to write a text file :D

EDIT:
Everything is working right
I need just to add the Java VM update

Last EDIT: I put the Java VM update in HFTYPE2\: Windows Update shows me: 0 Updates! :D

Just curious, I presume you are using XPCREATE to make your unattended CD. In which case, why are you trying to manually use the svcpack for the hotties etc. Is there a reason why XPCREATE cannot do this for you automatically?

Hello,

i´m absolutly new to this. Not used the Program by now. Is it working with a german version of XP? Or will it try to download and install the english updates?
And if it downloads the English updates is it possible to replace them with the german files?

Thank you all for helping

@pachelbeljoe: Before asking something, you must search if there is already some answers to your question :D

And you will find that: You don't have to modify anything :): XPCREATE should detect that you have a German XP CD, and should download the German update files

I might be way off base here, but I was wondering if there was any easy way to alter XPCreate to work for a Windows 2000 CD (or if a version of such is in the works). I would appreciate any insight or input in this matter. Thanks
