Don't use CDROOT because that is where the resulting CD is. Some of these operations are one shot deals, and should not be run a second time on the same files.

Fantastic peice of work!!! So happy to see that XPCREATE is heading towards the "perfect" solution.
I have been trying out a few things and I came across this :
---> Compress the inf File.
---> Update the DOSNET.INF file
---> Create the RunOnceEx Registry Entries.
---> The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
---> Create the CleanUp Routine
I am concerned about the line in "bold" above. I suspect its something that I must have done wrong rather than a bug. Can you please confirm, if possible?
Again many thanks for a wonderful program!

Being a "tidy" freak, I deleted all the files before seeing your post!
I am going to try and recreate the issue again and this time keep the files etc and attach them to my next post and provide you with as much details as possible.

@MaaR: If you have these files in NEWFILES, please zip and attach them to your next post: CMDLINES.TXT, MAKEUSER.CMD, ROCLEAN.CMD, RUNONCE.CMD, XPCREATE.LOG.
Thanks for all your help. I'll be low key for the next couple days, but will be checking in regularly. This is a generic disclaimer for any drunken posts that may occour over the next 48 hours ...
HAPPY NEW YEAR !

FILESCD\$OEM$\$PROGS\FreeRAM\FreeRAM.exeYou could also try something like a shortcut:
FILESCD\$OEM$\$DOC\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\FreeRAM.lnkI never remember if it is $DOC or $DOCS, $PROG or $PROGS - verify that, the rest looks OK.
@All: XPCREATE seems pretty stable for the moment, except for the problems noted above for MaaR, (until I add something ... ), so please try the version that is up. Once you download the "baseline" package, run the Update XPCREATE via the Web option. You should not need to update the baseline package, and if you do, I'll figure a way to get a message to you, or update automatically. As usual, any suggestions for improvement or enhancement of XPCREATE are most welcome. My question to ya'll: How do you pre / post customize your XPCREATE CD?
@un4given1 - Just saw your post - I'm embarresed to say, I've been busy as hell, and I have to find my Outlook Add-On to let me at the executable attachment: Dumb-a** administrator never fixed that - I'd fire him if it wasn't New Years Eve! I'm just a little slow ... Thanks again, and I will get to it, but I'm off for now. Don't forget, we have a seven hour headstart over you for the festivities!

now as for

well for me im a design freak, i like to start off by patching the UXTheme.dll
then adding my own theme, with sounds and screensavers plus a desktop,
then from there using gosh's method for adding a boot screen and after that i like to change the logon screen by placing the replacement in a batch file
and then from there i add simple things like my regtweaks and progs
but to start off everything i used XPCREATE's all in one option, then i just went from there
so if i was to pre do things i would take all the updates then do everything i said plus add users then finally i would run the complete option..

hi can you tell me alittle about your SETCLEAN.CMD id like to know what all it really cleans up, is it everything in the $OEM$ folder or is it just bits and pieces..
i guess one of the main things id like to know about it is does it clean up your "install" folder when everything is done ?
if it dosnt how can i mod this to add this feature..

I've gone through and used the setupmgrXP.exe to set everything up, so essentially an unattended installation.
I also changed the OemPreinstall to yes.
The batch files download and config all hotfixes fine, no errors all the way through the process.
Only problem is where the installer hangs during booting off the CD.

have you thought about taking the all in one option and then after its done erase the iso, then add what you like in the folders "filesxp" for files that go inthe 1386 folder and the folder "filescd" is the folder for $oem$ set up that sort of thing where you put all your other goodies, then call you things up from batches/cmds from the "roexe" folder, then after you have everything set up the way you like then take the "full creation" option to create your perfectly full customized version of unattended to your liking, and after youve got that and your still not happy with it, just extrat the iso to a folder with a program called undisker or some thing, then that way you can further your changes on your cd..
these are just suggestions and they do work fine , the all in one option will get all the updates for you, after your erase the iso, its up to you to do the customizing then choose the full creation option..
or if youd like to make things even easier, you could just set up the folders option, then do your changes/customizing before hand then run the all in one option.
it all works out,

Im havin a similar problem on my Athlon 1.4 with an Asus board.
I hv tried one solution which works, but only at times and is sort of random. I dont really understand why or how it works only sometimes and not all the time but you can give it a shot. Meantime if somebody else can come up with a better solution, it would be really appreciated.
Try going to the BIOS and changing all the USB options to "disabled". Disable the Legacy USB support and the other USB stuff. Now replace any USB keyboard/mice with PS/2 ones and try again. I think it should solve your problem. Let me know if it works

"XPCREATE.040101"; there is no problem if the folder name is
"XPCREATE040101" !
Any idea ?
Michel.
Happy New Year to every body, and especially to GreenMachine
