Hi and regs 1st from .de,

i have to create ya multi bootable DVD for my boss (network admin) to save time during an installation. (should be evidence enough for you guys that u did a good job at least huh?) :)

and i am pretty... let us say... unexperienced :D
(but the howto is very good for a "DAU", too --> n1ce w0rk!!)

but never the less... i do have some problems/questions 'bout that...

info:
-I used XPPRO_SP1 with an winnt.sif included in the i386 folder
-i proceeded to the step where to create the boot logo with CDSH
but there is no graphics folder in the dir "d:\root\cdsh\"
there is to find:
--> a "boot" folder
--> a "licenses" folder
--> a "tools" folder
and finally a kind of changelog "changes.txt"

is it possibble that I went wrong somehow?
oder do u mean the d:\root\cdsh\boot\graphics?

its kind'o important to me... so thx 4 any answer/advise

.: Visi :.

edit:

another problem is the custom setup.exe - no not the file ... but the app to work with - the howto sais to configure "project" -> "settings" ... but there are audio and window settings...

i'm lost :rolleyes:

help plz ASAP

thx

btw is there a IRC chan i can Idle in ??

cdshell is now at v. 2.0.11 .
Major change: cdsh folder changed to boot.
graphics folder on cd should be @:

ROOT
--Boot
--------graphics
--------fonts
--------modules
--------cdsh.bin
--------cdshell.ini
--------cdshw.com

hex edit loader.bin to reflect /cdsh instead of /boot to keep with the old cdsh folder setup.

the folders are like mentioned above... will they work?
:/

thx 1st... and what about the setup.exe?

is it possible for me... that i just copy the "My "setup.exe"" from the download section if i didnt change any directory...???

I have now 98SE, XP-SP1 (unattend) and W2K-SP4 (unattend) included... i only need to get in running (--> setup.exe) but dunno how...

maybe i just missunderstood for what sense each program is... (is the cdsh just for customizing the first logo - or is it to edit/create the setup.exe - or do i need the resource Hacker for this?)

:)

"Now, open AutoPlay Media Studio 4.0 and choose "Blank Project". Name it whatever you want. FIRST, go to "Project" -> "Settings". In the "General" tab look for "Distribution Folder". We want that to point to our "ROOT" folder. This step is absolutely vital. If not done correctly then all of our links won't point to the proper files."

quote from the howto...

"Project" -> "Settings". In the "General" tab --> i cant find that!

Now let's set up an action for this button. Under the "Actions" tab you will notice there are all sorts of actions we can choose from, as well as which event that action takes place on. More than likely we will just want it to be "OnClick" so leave that as is. If we want the button to run the Windows XP Pro setup then in the "Available Actions" window we need expand "File" and then double-click "Execute". Click the magnifying glass and find your "setup.exe" file in "\SETUP\WINXPPRO\" Click "OK" when done.. If you don't want the XP Pro setup screen to appear and you just want to run setup, then you would choose the "winnt32.exe" file in the "i386" directory.

another quote...

i dont have any " file ->execute " i got just...file -> open " is it that?

sorry for bothering u all :/

no one who can help me?

its just that the howto differes from the application to work with... and i am not sure where to set autoplay up right so that my exe is running right!
plz help asap

at least i found the reason for the difference... i only found autoplay 5.0 for download... there is no 4.0 anymore... and if u find a version (i did on a .ru-site)...
u can't install it because it receives the info that there is a newer... more powerful 5.0 version :/

so who could halp me in that special case...
