I'm having trouble starting vLite on Windows 7. It says I need the WIM filter so I installed the Windows 7 version of WAIK and still the WIM filter install buttons does nothing. I tried to copy the wimgapi.dll to vLite root manually but still nothing. Any thoughts?

WAIK for win7 is not compatable.
You HAVE to use the older version of WAIK!

You mean the Vista SP1 version or the 992.2 MB "previous WAIK version" listed in vLite downloads?
Should I just copy that file without installing it?

You need more than JUST the wimgapi.dll
You also need these in your wimfltr\x86 and wimflr\x64 folders (OF course each being respective to which bits of windows you are working on)
wimfltr.inf
wimfltr.sys
Once you have downloaded the Vista SP1 version of WAIK and gotten those files then you are all good to go.
