Can a shortcut to windows firewall be added? I know control firewall.cpl will launch but I want the second tab to be opened by default. Everyother cpl can be called with ",,n" n being a tab number starting with 0. Firewall.cpl doesnt, it just defaults to the first tab.

Any ideas?

Does the firewall cpl have a sub panel where I would need control control firewall.cpl,@1,1 ?

Anyone?

Tried about every combination I could think of and none will get the 2nd Tab.

Good then its not just me. Going a little off topic but for a good reason using a 3rd party program you can look at dll and cpl and see the menus, bmps, structure etc but the firewall.cpl has no such option so i wonder if the part i want is actually a different program called from firewall.cpl?

Is that a possibility?

Anyway I have made a gigantic reg file and have made things easier desktop wise.

THanks for the effort anyway

First time using a quote hope i did it right

I have a "right-click > create playlist" addition for the context menu. It only looks for popular media formats, and can easily be edited. Not sure if that's what your looking for in here. If so, let me know and I'll post the addon.

Cheers,

enuffsaid, you can post the addon and i'll check if its what i need.
I have discovered a method to add shortcuts in the placebar but the existing ones disseapear. I can put the old paths by my method but i dont't have icons. Is there a way the set an icon?

"
START-->run-->regedit-->HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

- right click on Policies and create a new key with name Comdlg32.
- right click on Comdlg32 and create a new key with name PlacesBar (if you now open "save as" or "open" you will see a blank column on the left where you can add the shortcuts
- in PlacesBar create new values: Place1, Place2, Place3, etc.
- to add the path: right click on PlacesBar--> String Value and you enter the path in "value data section"

I'm interested ,how to create a playlist for the context menu.
What I can use for ape, flac, mp3, aac,

Something like this but for all audio types like above

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell\Create M3U playlist\command]
@="cmd.exe /c dir /o/b \"%1\\*.mp3\" > \"%1\\playlist.m3u\""

I know this one http://serenity.pixe...#createplaylist
but it writes the full path to audio files in m3u file

You can use this VBS to clear any directory in your system just assign it to my computer right click menu:

Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
objFSO.DeleteFile("D:\Windows\Temp\*")

Dug around through my stuff and came up with these.
You can pratically add anything you like but you have to play with the values to get it right. :P

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

;Adds Control Panel to right click of MY Computer
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Control Panel\command]
@="rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL"

;Adds Add/Remove to right click of MY Computer
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Add/Remove\command]
@="control appwiz.cpl"

;Adds Drive Cleanup to right click of MY Computer
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Drive Cleanup\command]
@="cleanmgr"

;Adds Services to right click of MY Computer - may have been already posted but its in my list

@="shutdown -s -f -t 5"

MyPC_context.reg
Save that and right click it and choose merge. Should be instantantly added to the right click of your My Computer icon.

Add a shortcut to any folder and it appears on Start Menu and all folders.
Note: This will appear on all Users menus.
I add the -| |- to make it look neater and easier to find, not needed. Just add the name you want to appear to replace this -| UnattendXP |-
Then paste your app dir without a backslash. D:\\_Appzz\\_UnattendXP
Easy way to jump to my current programming project.
Add as many as you like.
AnyFolder.reg
Save this as AnyFolder.reg.
It now points to C:\Windows\Inf folder and you can modify it to what you want. Note you need the double \\ in it.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\INFfolder]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\INFfolder\Command]
@="C:\\WINDOWS\\EXPLORER.EXE /e,C:\\WINDOWS\\inf"
EDIT: Added shortcut to any folder from below.
EDIT added reg file

Does anyone have an updated list of this? I've seen several of these scattered throughout msfn.

None of these work for 64 bit explorer.exe, I can start explorer.exe 32 bit and they all show nicely in Windows XP x64, but does anyone know what these registry entries should look like for XP64 ?

yours most likely will say 64 instead of 32
You have to find the root key for My Computer which in 32 is
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell
See if you have a Manage Key under that

If only things would be so easy. No, there isn't a "64" part under {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}.

By the way, .reg files aren't batch-files.

I finally found some useful info on this subject:
