Ello guys

Thought I would treet myself to a nice new CPU only to find when I boot it crashes

I am runnig Windows 2003 Srv Ent Ed on no what is a 3200XP Athlon

I looked at Technet already knowing it was summing to do with the CPU, didt really find any useful info.

I resolved it by clearing the BIOS and rebooting from there worked

Just though i'd add this thread incase anyone else ever gets it.

Hey thanks, My boyfriend was having problems with that same error msg I think and I'm almost sure that this will help him.

This more of a motherboard issue than a Windows one.

Can you give us what your previous CPU was, and the brand and model of your motherboard?

Those kind of problems often has to do with not updating bios before u boot with new cpu, just keep it as rule to clear cmos (bios) before u start comp after u put in new cpu!

may also happen that it shows wrong speed of cpu at first run, just reboot after windows loaded, and should say correct!
