DirectX more Broken than Broke \\Soundcard Driver issue

Recommended Posts

Dear Community,

A while back I had a problem with my SB0160(Audigy 1) Soundcard. Somehow I accidentally pressed reset on my PC while playing a game, and some DAW programs were up too. DAW = FL STUDiO, etc. Since that day I haven't been able to open audio files in WMP without turning off hardware acceleration on my soundcard. Here's what i've done so far(and made it worse?):

I uninstalled my soundcard drivers completely(Using hidden hardware device trick).

I reinstalled my soundcard drivers.

Sound worked in everything except WMP. (-_-)

For some reason I decided to reinstall DirectX. Heres how I did that:

Downloaded DirectX Eradicator and ran it.

Tried to reinstall DirectX and it skipped to the final screen saying it's done.

After I did that, I ran DXDIAG. DXDIAG 32-bit showed that there was no DirectX driver installed. DXDIAG 64-bit showed that there was 9.0c installed. Then I re-ran the Eradicator, and deleted the DirectX folder from the registry under LOCAL \\SOFTWARE\\MICROSOFT\\. I was told to do this by some stupid site. Anyway, I re-ran DXDIAG and to my surprise there were no detected DirectX drivers on either 32 or 64bit versions of the program. I decided to try to reinstall DirectX now, and in normal boot it skipped to completed(-_-). In safe-mode it gave me an error saying its not compatible. I Installed SP2 somewhere in the process of doing that screwing things up more.

Here are some additional problems to my problems:

When I run DXDIAG now, I get some kind of sound error and it asks me to bypass Directsound since there was a "problem" with it. When I click NO, my computer restarts instantly. When I click YES, it works but is useless or w/e.

When I tried to reinstall my soundcard drivers (Ive done this a lot before it worked) my computer restarted instantly when reaching the very end of the hardware installation wizard.

So here are my big problems:

DirectX is messed up.

My soundcard drivers are messed up.

I used to be able to freggin use WMP(DirectSound) WHILE having my hardware acceleration running at full.

Ive done that.

Dxwebsetup.exe will do exactly the same as downloading redist and doing it manually.

SP2 includes DX9C which makes reinstalling it a huge problem.

I think a possible solution to this is to completely remove DX some how(ALL OF IT).

Sorry I forgot to mention, Ive tried to reinstall DirectX using all possible methods I know of lol.

Here's what i've done since last reply: (LOL)

Extracted DirectX9C package.

Used DOS to list all of the filenames in all of the dirs.

Copied the filenames into a txt file.

Created a PHP script to convert the format from

1.file

2.file

3.file

to 1.file,2.file,3.file

so I can input it into windows search.

Inputted it into windows search, overload of filenames caused it to show up random files.

Downloaded Cool Find and finally found all of the DirectX associated files.

Am now deleting them :D f*** you directx

To do:

Delete all DirectX Registry entries.

Reinstall DirectX

LOL

**UPDATE**

Removed all of the DirectX associated files from my PC.

Pc randomly crashed.

Rebooted in safe-mode successfuly WITHOUT DIRECTX!!!!.
