Weird error - when I click on an item or shortcut Rate Topic: -----

Recently I've installed XP 64-bit on a Dell Precision M4400 laptop. The install went great after the customer took the fully installed laptop with him, he wasn't satisfied.

Anyway, the problem is this: Whenever he clicks on an icon, it automatically wants to be renamed. It's very odd. I've tried just about anything.
Has anyone here experienced something similar?
