Hmm. I wonder about this. We build servers here and they are really loud already, because of the fans. I wonder if they would run better without fans, or at least some sort of passive cooling system.

Thats awesome! I could sleep in there! When I worked for the state we had the main server room for all the state departments in state of Vermont and man was that loud in there! They even had ear protection hanging on the wall!

Awesome video though!

The proximity of hard drives in most enclosures has always bothered me, with the disks almost stacked directly on each other the vibration from one has to be affecting the other. However I guess that since the vibration / noise is constant the drives are "used" to it. It looks like when he shouts it is only recorded for the initial imbalance and not the entire duration. I should move my post to the hardware forum :P
