Internet Explorer Not Opening IE troubles Rate Topic:

I recently found a portable version of Internet Explorer and tried running it. Nothing happened when I opened up the portable version, except now I was unable to open up the normal version on my hard drive. I need some suggestions on what to do, i will list everything that i have tried so far below. Thank you

I have Windows Vista Home Premium running on this notebook, Firefox works fine but IE doesn't open at all.

Tried doing the following:
Downloading and reinstalling IE 8,
Uninstalling IE 8 ,
Running sfc /scannow,
System Restore doesn't go back that far unfortunately,
Removing BHOs with HiJackthis,
and all of those did not work.

Please let me know what i should try, thanks!
