pcandpc
Hi,I am using XP with SP 3. I'm noticing that my network card is taking too longfor it to be activated. Because it takes about 7 or so minutes even after the systemhas already started, it seems that the network activation always happens at last.If there is an order of system services start up, how can I ensure the network startsthe first in XP Home? Thanks. ripken204
just curious, but what happens when you unplug your ethernet cable and plug it back in?does it take a few seconds to reconnect or minutes?
pcandpc
Hi,If I physically disconnect the network cable and reconnect it once the network connectivity iconappears on the system tray, the reconnect happens almost immediately. When there's no connectivity icon on the system tray, I even tried pinging the wireless router and that works okay. Even the task manager shows that the network is in operational mode. So, I just don't know what's causing this significant delay before the connectivity icon shows upon the system tray. Until that happens, I can't connect to the Internet at all.Thanks.
Tripredacus
I notice some Intel NICs do this, specifically the ones on the DG45ID and DG45FC desktop boards.
