I was adding my applications to config and I recieved an Access Denied error for config.js

Now all of my program [25+] and their silent install commands are gone.

Is there anyway to recover these entries and what happened to my config.js that made this happen?

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

TwistedMexi, if you have not closed WPI, try specifying another file to store your config data. Are you sure you were not running from CD (can't write)? Is it possible another process was using the config.js file? Perhaps you had it open in notepad? A free program called Process Explorer will tell you if a file (Handle) is held by a process. Enjoy, John.

Hi John,

unfortunately I have closed the program in an attempt to troubleshoot, thinking that all my changes before the last save would have still been there. Upon examining the config.js it appears every entry is gone and the .js file had lost the default entry. I have had to reset the config.js file and as far as I can tell, I'll have to redo every entry.

Now that you bring it to my attention I believe I may of had the folder open in windows explorer, not thinking it would lock the handle. If only I hadn't panicked and closed the program. :\

Thanks for your help though.

That is curious. As John said: were you trying to edit/save from/to a cd? On a network and the share wouldn't allow you access to save? Having the folder open would not cause it.

As a rule of thumb to prevent such problems I suggest saving every 4 - 6 entries when making WPI.

Sorry all that time was lost.
