how to change the boot name, i end up with double "windows vista" name at dual boot selection"

Open a (elevated, if UAC is enabled) command prompt, and run the following commands:

bcdedit /enum
bcdedit /set {current} description "<Whatever name you want here>"

hmm.. thanx for the answers but what i am looking for is. how to change boot name when customizing the unattended. someone told me to edit bootstr.dll in system32 directory.
but i can't edit it. it won't allow me. i used restorator and reshack. both won't allow me to edit. any idea?

The lack of a response generally would mean no one knows (yet). If you're really anxious, ask Microsoft. Otherwise, figure it out for yourself and post it here to help others.

A simple fix I can think of would be to have the command above run via a FirstLogonCommands script in the oobeSystem settings pass in your unattend, but if you want setup itself to do it via an edited .dll, you may be out of luck if you can't edit it.
