Dead0, I have followed your guide, but after the last step when installing windows with VMware I get a blue screen .
I will give you the size of the "sources" folder.

sources after step 9: 2.390 mb
sources after step 11: 1.220 mb
sources after step 16: 1.210 mb
sources after last step 17: 625 mb

For a test I made a iso with vlite after step 11 and there were no problems when installing.
What do you think the problem is?

There are only tweaks.ini and ultimatex86.ini.
In step 10 I used ultimatex86.ini and in sstep17 tweaks.ini

I get the bsod after Completing the installation (the first boot after install)
I have made a screenshot of it:

try it again but in step 17, dont apply any tweaks, just choose component removal & make boot iso in vlite! also make sure you dont integrate any drivers/hotfixes or languages?

Dead0, I solved my problem.
some drivers under "pause delete drivers" in the ultimatex86.bat file were causing the bsod.
now it boots fine.
thanks for your GREAT work!

Dead0,
File and printer sharing does not work after using Dism and Vlite(customized) at step 11.
In "Change Advanced Sharing settings" if you change a setting, it does not save them.

But if I only use the customized Vlite preset (without using dism) then File and printer sharing works.
I think that some package(s) in ultimatex86.bat are causing for this problem, but I dont no which one?

try keeping these 2 in the ultimatex86.bat file & see if it works?

you could use vlite to remove .net completely after the dism removal but it does break few programs like event viewer, mmc snapins etc

screenshot after .net removal with vlite

Nice work Dead0!! Thanx!
If you read the first few pages in this post, it looks like only Dead0 seems to have a working iso and it lead me to think that, he is photoshoping or something but interestingly enough his guide actually works (but needs clarification). It has worked for me. Originally I had shyed away from it coz it looks very problematic with people getting errors left, right and centre but I decided to attempt it today and 7hrs later am finding it awesome.

Unbelievable!!!
It works just like the original image which I have down sized from 11.1gb to 3.27gb installed (Win7x64 Ultimate)
AUSOME!!!!
I still need to run more tests to confirm that its good to go

I still feel like loosing more weight but have been trying to create a system repair disk from it and have found a work around it. So now am waiting for the final release of the http://www.4shared.c...2/x64guide.html.

Yes, you can keep NetworkDiagnostics and Shell-HomeGroup-Package for removal.
You must also keep the following in Vlite:

untick "File and printing sharing"
untick "Computer browser"
untick "Windows connect now"
untick "tcp ip helper"
untick "ssdp"

Tweaks:
Security ac manager: set to Auto
Workstation: set to Auto

you need to make sure you run vlite with the -extreme switch! ie on the vlite desktop shortcut, right-click for properties shortcut & in target add "C:\Program Files\vLite\vLite.exe" -extreme
