Thats is just those 3 above cannot be removed if you are running XP.

At least out of my batch file.

Not sure what you mean. I only unmount after the tweak and DISM has run.

1 - Mount WIM.
2 - Do tweak.
3 - Run DISM (and cross your fingers lol)

4 - Unmount-Commit

Up to now 2 packages have made it fail and make it "unservicable":

Microsoft-Windows-Backup-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~6.1.7600.16385
Microsoft-Windows-Gadget-Platform-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~6.1.7600.16385

this could be why you are getting errors! you need to:
1) mount wim
2) apply tweak
3) unmount wim with commit
4) mount wim
5) run dism batch file
6) unmount wim with commit

ps just did another run with netfx3 removed on x86 & got the install.wim to 463mb & install size at 1.47gb without page/hiberfile :D

not only xp... it fails on win7 too.

that doesnt help either dead0. i always did it in that order but still get the "unserviceable" errors.

when mounting with imagex, are you using the imagex from the waik x86 folder or from the amd64 folder?

just updated 1st post with netfx3 removal for x86. remember once removed, you cant re-install netfx3/3.5/4 again...personally, for about 100mb sake, id keep netfx3? :P

if you're working in a x64 environment, u need to copy the x64 version of gimagex to the amd64 folder in windows waik directory

hi dead0, wonderful guide. i made some changes to batch file and vlite preset ini file according to my choice and after installation only 1.82 GB is used (after disabling pagefile). this is great. is it possible for you to give detail of all the components that you have removed so that i can make a better choice of what to remove and what not to e.g. i won't like to remove LAN, WLAN card drivers etc.
