Ive tried using the winnt.sif to install these drivers but it doesn't work as well as installng them via the setup file for some reason.

However the **** setup file just reboots the computer without even asking :) .

How do you stop this?

I have no problems installing the nForce2 Drivers.

Install the drivers on a Test PC. The folder with the extracted files move to ?:\XPCD\$OEM$\$1\Drivers\Nvidia

And in the Winnt.sif just put these line in....:

Quote

OemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\Nvidia\AudioDrv;Drivers\Nvidia\AudioUtl;Drivers\Nvidia\Ethernet;Drivers\Nvidia\GART;Drivers\Nvidia\IDE;Drivers\Nvidia\MemCtl;Drivers\Nvidia\SMBus"

This workes fine for me! All drivers will be installed!

My winnt.sif reads:
OemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\Nvidia\AudioDrv;Drivers\Nvidia\AudioUtl;Drivers\Nvidia\Ethernet;Drivers\Nvidia\GART;Drivers\Nvidia\IDE;Drivers\Nvidia\MemCtl;Drivers\Nvidia\SMBus;Drivers\Radeon\2KXP_INF;Drivers\wifi"

But the Ethernet, RAID, and usb devices arn't installed. Neither is the Nvidia control pannel. All the ohers are.

works perfectly for me too.

USB 2.0 gets activated without any effort on your part if you have slipstreamed Sp1 to the Windows XP CD. But if you are talking about a USB "peripheral" like a printer/scanner/webcam, you can put the relevant drivers for those devices too in the drivers folder and make an entry about its path in OemPnPDriversPath. If a device driver isn't installed, most probably you haven't put in the drivers for it on the CD.

The ethernet drivers are there if you had extracted the drivers - just point OemPnPDriversPath to the folder containing the .inf file for ethernet driver. But if your MainBoard doesn't use the nVidia MCP NIC chipset, probably it uses a realtek chipset - check your MoBo manual.

If its the nForce Audio Control Panel icon you're referring to, see these threads - they've already discussed it threadbare :-)

The RAID requires lots more effort to install - surf around MSFN for plenty of info on the same.

Got hte ethernet and usb sorted, was just pointing ot the wrong folder. However the RAID just won't install, the winnt.sif is pointing to the right folder, ive even copy and pasted it to make sure. But no go, they are the right drivers cos I can install them under windows no probs

I got the code to install the Sound utilities:
unDll32.exe SETUPAPI.DLL,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall.ntx86 132 %systemdrive%\drivers\nforce\AudioUtl\nvautils.inf

I've tried runing it in the RunOnceEx, but it never installed. Wheres the best place to run it?

huh ?? maybe you missed the "R" in rundll32 ?
RunDll32.exe SETUPAPI.DLL,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall.ntx86 132 %systemdrive%\drivers\nF\AudioUtl\nvautils.inf

do you have the folders and files laid out according to what your code says ?
i.e., is your nvautils.inf file existing in "%systemdrive%\drivers\nforce\AudioUtl" folder ?

Run this in the runonceex that runs after Setup finishes and windows logs on automatically once - have that code in a .cmd file and call that cmd file as one of your keys.

Hoping this helps.

Yup, the files are all there. I guess you cant run RUNDLL for that bit. I'll try putting it in it's own cmd file.

Thanks for the help

I know this thread is long-dead, but it's worth a shot....

Up in Post #2, shawn26 shows how to integrate the nForce2 drivers into the Unattended XP CD. Will this work on a Virtual PC test machine? That is the only method I have of testing (don't want to do my own computer every time I test...).

How will I know if the drivers have installed correctly?

The only way you can verify that your drivers are working is to install it on a real-life pc.
