Ninho
Were there any attempts at implementing file and folder security on FAT volumes in NT derivatives, similar in spirit tothe FAT Security for Windows 9x project discussed in :<http://www.msfn.org/board/fatsec-security-driver-2004-project-t109794-pid-725107.html#entry725107> ?The latter seems stalled BTW, any news ? *Daniel
From my understanding, it is not possable to inforce any security on FAT formatted drive. Yes there may be programs that will do it, however, they may not be well supported, and the main issue comes down to data recovery. Having said that, NTFS support folder/file security out of the box. and if you need to do data recovery, you should be fine since your not locked into using 3rd party software that may not work outside windows.
