is the proccess the same for win2000 as it is for xp on the unattended OEM install with just the windows and wnnt folders being differnt ?

Yes, but you can have the OS installed in just about any directory you wish by editing winnt.sif

TargetPath=\WINDOWS

but the default path is WNNT right

Yes it is.

If I remember correctly

Pre Windows 95 = :\Windows
Windows 95-ME = :\Windows
Windows NT/2000 = :\WinNT
WindowsXP Home/Pro = :\Windows

yes, the process is exactly the same, and the directory is "\WINNT".

In fact, win2k has a better setupmgr program (found in tools folder on cd) than XP to create your winnt.sif and $OEM$ folder. Only thing to remember is that by default, setupmgr locates $OEM$ within the I386 directory, and if you are doing a CD install, you have to move it out of the I386 folder to be directly in the CD's root.
