I've just transferred my Office 2000 program, including Outlook which I used for organiser functions only, from my old Windows XP system - where it was working perfectly - to my new Vista Home Premium one.
Having reinstalled the program I can get Outlook running, and associated with my previous application data for Calendar and Contacts which I can now view, but when I try and add new entries to either I get the following error message: An error occurred whilst attempting to open the Windows Address Book. Unable to find the WAB DLL. A search confirms it is not on the new system. So I am prevented from adding any more entries.
The oddity is that a search of my old system reveals that the same DLL file isn't on that computer either - but it's still functioning properly! Can anyone suggest how I can correct this new fault?
Many thanks
Anthony

I know getting Office 2000 and Outlook 2000 in particular to work on Vista was problematic. It's on the compat list, but in all honestly it's not entirely straightforward. I found nothing officially, but I did dig up a blog post that talked about the steps needed to actually get Office and Outlook 2000 to work properly on Vista systems, so you might want to have a look and see if any of that applies, if doing some or all of those steps help, etc.

Hurrah! I went to the blog, followed the instructions, and it worked. Problem solved!
Thank you so much for taking the trouble to reply. I'm extremely grateful.
