Changing DIR Rate Topic: -----

Ok i know how to make the cd with my apps and what not to install during the windows setup...but is there a way to point my installs to a certain partion...

ex: AIM installs to C:\program files\AIM
can i change this to E:\program files\AIM

Just wondering if it was posible.

u can change the whole program files to go on drive e
i can tell it to u if u want....
also check gosh's aim msi. I think with msi u can specify the default install location
I actually can make u an msi just to install to e:\program files\aim
but I don't know how often aim releases a new program so this would only work for the current.

Change HKCU\Sopftware\microsoft\windows\currentversion\ programfiles to E:\program files with a reg script

I don't think there is a registry value like that under current version..?????
and even if there was one I'd think that it would change the whole program files dir. I'm not sure if that's what he wants.
if he wants to change the whole dir to e:\program files
he can use the entry in the winnt.sif......
