hi all :hello:
i saw several times ppl speaking about this install_wim_tweak.exe but i couldn't find any information about this tools. Sorry if there's already a topic i found nothing :blushing:

so, what does this tool do ?

this exe remove the owner regs from the install.wim\windows\system32\config\system hive[ registers of system ] and make the packages visible

so with dism.exe u will be able to remove them and ofc see them

oh thanks a lot for your answer and thanks to the creator for this tool

i was wondering why i couldn't get access to these packages and features with dism :)

We have been having reports of DISM not being able to dis-mount an commit correctly after applying teh Install_WIM_Tweak.

Who is the original author,and could they shed some light on the issue. Does this only work with Vista WAIK ImageX ?

thats weird in the installation disc of win 7 under sources i can see the installation packes is this normal?
and if so cant i just remove them by hand instead of using wim?

yea its does but why u need it vlite doing gr8 on it

i did try that after the installation it did removed all packages
its have some problem if the packages is visible and un-owner-ed
but i didnt try it using dism /online
