ilko_t
What program did you use to prepare the USB stick? 1) You may have to replace grldr file in root of USB stick with any of the latest versions in these packages:http://www.nufans.net/grub4dos/grub4dos-0.4.4.ziphttp://www.nufans.net/grub4dos/grub4dos-0.4.4-2009-10-16.zipJust take the grldr file in the root of archive and put it in the root of the USB stick.2) Check in BIOS if you have option how USB storage devices are emulated as- floppy disk(FDD), hard disk (HDD), ZIP...Make it as HDD.3) What program did you format the stick with? Fabiola
Hello ilko_t, I use the "WinSetupFromUSB" to format and copy the windows setup files, in RMPREPUSB options i put Boot as HDD, Xp bootable and NTFSJust to update I test the usb key on a friend aspire one, and it works fine there, the problem is in my hp mini =(I will replace the grldr file in root and post back the results

Fabiola
Is a HP mini 1120LAI only have that USB, but I think that works fine I tested it in a Aspire One
ilko_t
It appears the mini emulates your USB stick as a floppy disk, rather than a hard disk. We need it as hard disk.It could be the small 512MB size turning this behavior in BIOS, hence the request to try with larger USB stick. Not that the stick itself is faulty. dencorso
Hi, Fabiola!Enter BIOS and see whether it gives you an option for booting a USB-HDD, and, if so, select it as 1st boot device. You don't want either a USB-FDD or a USB-ZIP. Be aware, however, that such options may exist, but that they also may as well not exist. YMMV. But it's worth a try. Good luck!
