I just bought a 21.5" Acer H213H monitor. I purposely never installed a video card in my latest build because I did not want to hear the noisy fan, plus I really didn't need one anyway (I do emulation not PC gaming). So, my onboard video has ATI Radeon HD 3200. Problem is I'm running 1680x1050 resolution @ 60 hertz. Not looking very good, I need it to be able to go back to 75. So, I am going to buy a fanless video card. Question is will a MSI R4550-MD1GH Radeon HD 4550 1GB 64-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 LINK do the job? I need to be sure that it will run that resolution at 75 hertz.

Yes, that card will work just fine. pretty good price as well.

I'm a little surprised onboard couldn't push the 75hz...

Your problem isn't the screen refresh rate but the native resolution of that screen, set it to 1920*1080 and you will see that the image is like it should be, and 60Hz on most LCDs is just normal ;).
