Hello I am experiencing a problem with your site on my old account. "affidavit" i created this account just to see if it would work

When I try to post or reply on "affidavit" it will send me back to the forum index.

I was told by a mod it was a board issue but that clearly is not the case since i just created this new account and can post like no tomorrow...

please fix my other account I have been a member here for a long time.. even though i have not been active of late I feel it is horrible I am unable to participate in the comunity

thanks,
affidavit

It is a new board issue, something to do with older accounts, and you have already been told that we are looking into it. We'll contact you via PM on both of your accounts and reply back to this thread once the problem has been resolved.

That's what we asked the topic starter to do by PM, plus to try it on another PC too ;).

did all of the above suggested fixes...

currently on different computer, and using IE instead of firefox.

same outcome... the forums will let me use this newly created account but as I tried to post here first with my main account "affidavit" same outcome... sent back to the forum index page...

it is clearly an account issue...

the account: affidavit has somehow been bugged

i would suggest looking into the account... maybe even try banning/blocking it... then unbanning/blocking it...
or if you are able to see if the account has the apropriate permissions to post... Hell I couldnt even get it to pm properly last time i tried could only do so via reply.. when i went to the moderaters profile and clicked "send message" was again... sent to forum index..

but yes.. i would try the above.. block and unblock me... and see if that fixes the issue.. if that dont work... well i dunno
I just find it odd that this new account works fine... when my very old account cannot post.

Try to clear cookies and temporary internet files and try again. If you use Firefox try to clear bin folder or try another browser.

Best regards

I appreciate all the responses but if you will please... do understand that all of what you are suggesting has been tried repetitivly...
not only that the fact that it would allow me to use annother account clearly indicates there is no problem with the browser cache or ect... even tho all that has been taken into consideration and has been tried

xper, if you would since u are a site admin and prolly have more privialages please ban/block then unban/unblock the account "affidavit" (not this one i am using now... it is just one i created in order to be able to comunicate

that just may fix my issue.. there is something in the account that is broken..
for example when i try to make a new post.. it will act like its going to then im quickly redirected to the forum index.. almost as if someone was blocked or banned from posting...

i know because i have been before for accidently mentioning something that was against the rules reguarding software that i did not know was pirated.. but this was ages ago and it was reversed.. and i could post again...

the behavior seems familiar
account is broke
i apreciate any help i can get to get my account back in order and be able to post again...

thank you
adam

I've done this for you. Try posting with your old account now.

If you were banned, you wouldn't be able to use the PM system, so I highly doubt that it had anything to do with privileges (I'll be very surprised if banning and then unbanning you did anything at all).

well ****!

yup i tried it and you are correct if you banned and unbanned me.... it had no effect and i cannot post..
I am completely lost on this one.... I have seriously tried it all different pc's, os's, clearing caches and cookies, used 3 different browsers...

and all i have to say at the end of it all is... I can post on "affidavit1" but cannot post on my old account that i have been a member of since 2004 "affidavit"

I appreciate the support that you have all given.. i figured this would be an easy fix.. or someone was missing something but clearly this isn't something easily fixed..

thanks and if you can manage to get to the bottom of the problem I thank you in advance.. till then i wait in non posting exile :(

What browser are you using?

My suggestion worked for others. I will try your old account.

Dunno what's wrong but I never had any issue. Using IE8 all the time. Never tried other browsers. I know that FF causing a lot of issues on other boards too.

Just got mail from member:

Ok, the standard feature within IE8 doesnt do the trick of removing the cookies and temp files. Had to manually delete the file in the folders. Now I can login again. Thanks.

I've PM'ed the password to the affidavit account to the affidavit1 account. Please change it once you are logged on so that no one (including myself) knows the new password but you. Thank you.

affidavit, please be sure to review the forum rules before posting since a lot has changed in the last five years. You might also want to start off by changing your avatar to something that does violate rule 5:

Quote

5. Images in signatures shall not exceed a total of 380x100 pixels and 100kB. Flash and animated signatures and avatars are not permitted. You can enter a maximum of four (4) lines of text in your signature for a text-only signature, or one (1) line of text above or below a signature that contains an image. Advertising and/or affiliates are not allowed in signatures nor avatars. Avatars are to be a maximum of 100x100 pixels. If your avatar or signature goes above these guidelines they will be taken off without notice. Any avatars or signatures found to be attached to a thread on MSFN being used as a host will be removed. Members with slow connection can disable other members' signatures when reading posts by going to: My Control - Options - Board Settings.
