No need to add KB2503665 (MS11-046) as it was replaced by KB2645640 (MS12-009) which is already in your UL :)

KB2503665 is still needed for x86, cause it wasn't superseded! KB2503665 on Win7 x64 was superseded by KB2645640.

@steven4554: what's the differences between these Uls and those posted on MDL?

None, they are both identical.

I DLed the latest W7 x64 list and noticed the KB2798897 (rvkroots.exe). It was not offered to me by Windows Update. How did you learn about it and how am I expected to learn about it? BTW, there is some chatter about rvkroots.exe changing all the friendly names in the Untrusted Certificates folder to <none> - it did on my system. Thanks and enjoy, John.

I get my info from 2 MS sources here and here and there are some certs being moved to untrusted folder, cause they can be a security risk.

steven4554, thanks for your reply. I do not understand why MS would not release this as an update. Thanks and enjoy, John.

steven4554, I noticed you added KB2647753-v4 to your latest list (3-12-2013). This raises the question of how do you determine the URL for the Windows Catalog updates? Thanks and enjoy, John.

Here are two UL's that will let you download the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 with updates/drivers up to: 12th March 2013!

Please note - you can also download the Windows 7 SP1 ULZ's from the WUD website!

system: Windows 7 SP1 x86
updates: 2013-03-12 (or latter)

I'm a little bit confused - ulz files from you are different from ulz files at windowsupdatesdownloader.com.

your ulz: http://www.msfn.org/...attach_id=36393
wud ulz: http://www.windowsup...?type=ul&id=213

I've found the following differences:
(that is files in your ulz that are not in wud ulz
and files in wud ulz that are not in your ulz)

1. Security Updates
your ulz:
Windows6.1-KB2503665-x86.msu
Windows6.1-KB2532531-x86.msu

wud ulz:
Windows6.1-KB2618451-x86.msu

2. Non-Security Updates
your ulz:
rvkroots.exe
Windows6.1-KB2633952-x86.msu
Windows6.1-KB2647753-v4-x86.msu
Windows6.1-KB2718704-x86.msu

wud ulz:
Windows6.1-KB2534366-x86.msu
Windows6.1-KB2639308-x86.msu
Windows6.1-KB2641690-x64.msu
Windows6.1-KB2647753-v2-x86.msu
Windows6.1-KB2762895-x86.msu

Which ULZ is "more better" - your or that from windowsupdatesdownloader site? :)

I maintain update packs for Win7 SP1 so I have checked the KB against my pack:

Quote

1. Security Updates
your ulz:
Windows6.1-KB2503665-x86.msu <-- needed
Windows6.1-KB2532531-x86.msu <-- needed

wud ulz:
Windows6.1-KB2618451-x86.msu <-- not needed

2. Non-Security Updates
your ulz:
rvkroots.exe <-- needed (can't be integrated, must be installed at RunOnce)
Windows6.1-KB2633952-x86.msu <-- not needed
Windows6.1-KB2647753-v4-x86.msu <-- needed
Windows6.1-KB2718704-x86.msu <-- needed

wud ulz:
Windows6.1-KB2534366-x86.msu <-- not needed
Windows6.1-KB2639308-x86.msu <-- not needed
Windows6.1-KB2641690-x64.msu <-- not needed (and it's a 64 bits update)
Windows6.1-KB2647753-v2-x86.msu <-- not needed (superseded by v4 )
Windows6.1-KB2762895-x86.msu <-- not needed

Only one KB not needed in steven4554's UL vs 6 non needed KB and at least 5 missing KB for the other UL.

So, based to this comparison, johnhc steven4554's UL is far better, but not perfect (the goal here is to have zero superseded updates and zero updates on Windows Update)

mooms, I was surprised to see my userid in your post. I do not have an update list that I publish. You must have my ID confused with someone else. Enjoy, John.

The ULZ on WUD site don't include third party programs like Adobe Flash Player or Display Drivers, etc...
And I get the direct download links on MS Update Catalog site by viewing the source of the webpage after downloading the update(s)

Indeed, sorry for the error, should be "steven4554's UL" of course.

So why the differences in the KB ?

So why the differences in the KB ?

There shouldn't be any difference, why have I missed some updates or superseded ones that shouldn't be there?

Hi Steven4554, for windows7 x86 update KB2607047 is in your non-security group. This update does not integrate using Win toolkit nor is Windows7 asking for it post installation.
Sounds to me like an optional update for certain installations only.

From microsoft:
"You should install this update on any Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer that has the DFS Replication role enabled or on any Windows 7 client that has the Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) package installed for remotely managing a DFSR server."

Regards, Gideon.

Jakson, Mooms, Just use Steven4554s' list and don't sweat the details, your Win7 Inatallaion will be happy. The only kb's I'm adding that's not in his list are 2 IE9 updates and kb971033 (putting them in a separate folder).
Post installation, It only needs kb2533553, IE10 and dotnet 4 client.

Many thanks for keeping this updated, it really is a massive help!

One very minor issue: your link to KB947821 is broken for both the x86 and X64 lists. I think it's because your lists still point to V25 of the update and V26 is now the latest version. It's available here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

x86 - http://go.microsoft..../?LinkID=167366 / http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=3132
X64 - http://go.microsoft..../?LinkID=183286 / http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=20858

JonnyT, No broken link here, Maybe Steven fixed the link after reading your comment.

Excellent, very quick work!

Sorry to report another (minor, slightly nit-picky) problem with the x86 Update List. There are at least four updates that are downloading the correct -x86 versions, but the filename is renaming them as -X64! These are:

Windows6.1-KB2813347-x64.msu
Windows6.1-KB2813170-x64.msu
Windows6.1-KB2808735-x64.msu
Windows6.1-KB2823324-x64.msu
