I used to include it, but decided to remove the embedded lockdown update from the lists.

Just realised that the latest version of Embedded Lockdown update is already in the lists.

Hi, Are you providing updates to IE11? After  latest installation Windows update asks for Cum update kb2929437 (Apr 2014) which was supposedly replaced by kb2957689.

Just curious.

Yes I do, but KB2929437 and KB2957689 have been superseded by July's KB2962872, you need to download the latest lists which I do update every month.

I use the MU Catalog site, cause it tells you which updates have been superseded.

KB2862152 and KB2861855 are not included, cause I do not provide updates to DirectAceess or Remote Desktop!

Sadly, MS has not made v11.0.11 available yet! So you'll have to make do with the current version which v11.0.10. The same goes for IE9 and 10 too.

Thanks for the great list.

Newbie question, how do you make sure the updates are applied or integrated in the correct order?

Hi, if you apply or integrate a update that's already on the system or offline image, then DISM will skip it. And you can integrate any update in any order, just be sure to leave out the updates in the lists that have the Non-Integrate labelled beside it, and you'll be fine.

As for installing, the updates that won't work when integrated will need to be installed after installation of Win7, like KB2533552 for example.

Thanks for the reply.  I guess IE11 is an exception then.  I saw your instructions in another thread and it worked.

Can DISM give a warning when it skips or fails to integrate an update?  Also, is the System Update Readiness Tool (KB947821) also Non-Integrate?  What about the other Optional Updates?

As long as you install/integrate the required updates for IE11 to work in Win7 SP1, you should be fine :)

Yes, it will give an error message and usually details info on what to do next. As for KB947821, you can sort of integrate it, but it's not really a update, it's more of a tool to resolving problems with the system files. It's best to leave that alone, unless you're facing issues with your system.

Everything in the Optional section is non-integrate, but you can integrate them using 3 methods:-

1) Reverse Integration, This involves installing a version of Win7 that's customised with your settings and programs included in the offline image. Beware, that this can be a lengthy process depending on your system configuration.

2) Setup scripts, these run after Win7 installation has finished but before you can access the desktop, so your programs will be there when you login for the first time (hopefully!)

3) Using 3rd party programs, to config your offline images, some will even allow you to install updates on a live system, like WinToolkit.

Thanks again for the detailed reply.  Some of the integrated updates show up again in Windows Update after a Language Pack is installed.  Is this normal?

Yes it is, cause the updates would require that language pack in order to work in that language.
