The File-Checker (HFSLIPFC) for HFSLIP

I don't know what your talking about, guys.

It is a High priority update, WU asks for it, it's not optional.

And, the KB article says it doesn't replace any older update.

It doesn't says anything.

Extract both and you'll see which file is replaced (because is only one).

More info, here:

I'll let the image do the talking...

2012-10 MS12-072: Windows Kernel should be removed, is one out of three.in the update list.

Messenger.msi ESN is not anymore online, use this one:

I think that KB2829069 replaces high priority KB2794119 and optional KB2821346

Hi Maxfutur,

wow, many things! :)

I don't understand why KB2828030 is not added to the update list.

Info:

http://support.micro....com/kb/2828030

There was no KB-Article available on 22. May (see here) after that, I've forgotten this update. Thanks for remembering me!

2012-10 MS12-072: Windows Kernel should be removed, is one out of three.in the update list.

Yes, it should really be removed (but it is MS12-068)

Messenger.msi ESN is not anymore online, use this one:

https://dl.dropboxus...2/Messenger.MSI

Also thanks!

Oh, I didn't know KB2829069. I will check the replacement status! I think also KB2829069 will replace both! Edited by Mim0

Thanks for all what you do.

Thx, mimo.

BTW, I have already tested prior to this update and WU DID NOT ask for 2828030, it was 100% happy.

Of course WU doesn't ask for 2828030, it's a hotfix by request (HBR) just like a few other hotfixes listed in the file checker and on Mim0's site.

There's sth (slightly) wrong with new file-checker.

Log after "first" run:

obsolete: HF\WindowsXP-KB2821346-x86-PLK.exe (Daylight saving time (DST) update for Chile, replaced by KB2829069)

not found (F): HF\WindowsXP-KB2829069-x86-PLK.exe (Daylight saving time (DST) update for Paraguay)

not found (H): HF\WindowsXP-KB2794119-x86-PLK.exe (Cumulative Time Zone Update)

not found (F): HF\WindowsXP-KB2828030-x86-PLK.exe (Fix: USB audio devices stop streaming audio)

So I put KB2829069, KB2794119, KB2828030 into HF folder and run file-checker again:

obsolete: HF\WindowsXP-KB2794119-x86-PLK.exe (Cumulative Time Zone Update, replaced by hotfix KB2829069)

KB2794119 first is "not found" and then "obsolete" :).

Yes, I know this shortcoming... But I have no idea how to solve it, also because it's not really wrong I think...

1. In the first run, when both files are not present they should be listed as "missing"

2. And in the second run, when one update replaces the other, the other is "obsolete"

The fc should not force the user which updates should be used. The fc just reports information about the updates in the HFSLIP-folders.

In the first run, the fc does not know, which updates the user finally want to use.

Weird, worked fine for me...

Yes, because you don't have both missing at the same time, because you (probably) have KB2794119 since Jan 2013 in your HF-folder.
