RDC7 Overwrites WindowsXP-KB2483614-x86-XXX.exe

Thy for your test, buddy :)

I've thought about it and I came to a solution.

1. Place the update (KB2483614) also in HFSVCPACK_SW1
2. Use my HFSLIP_POST_RDC7.cmd in HFTOOLS :D

The HFSLIP-extension HFSLIP_POST_RDC7.cmd is doing the following:

This extenstion makes it possible to handle updates for RDC7
(WindowsXP-KB969084-x86-XXX.exe) correctly, e.g. KB2483614).
Because RDC7 must be located in HFSVCPACK_SW1 (will be installed at
T13) it will override its security-update KB2483614 when KB2483614
is located in HF (will be slipstreamed).
To place KB2483614 also in HFSVCPACK_SW1 is the half solution. It
must be forced that RDC7 will be installed before it will be updated.
To force that RDC7 (KB969084) will be installed before KB2483614
(and probably further updates of RDC7) it must be renamed to
...KB0969084... (leading zero).
For this purpose place this extension into the HFTOOLS folder.

I've tested it with success! :)

Mimo

PS: without HFSLIP_POST_RDC7.cmd the update will be installed still before RDC7-installation, and will be overwritten by the RDC7-installation.

thx, mimo, but you'll need to release a new ver. immediately. There's a new update being pushed by MU. can't remember the kb number right now.
edit: 2524375. Deals with possible spoofing.
Ooops, almost forgot: there's also a new version of rootsupd.exe, from march 2011.

BTW, I think you need to modify the script:
the line that says "checking dependencies of ...bla bla bla 2141007"
Should be modified, since 2141007 is now obsolete and replaced by other HF. Also, the dependency itself should be revised too.

bye!

Hmmm... I couldn't remember. Your last link was for Flash Player 10.2.152.32. But currently we have 10.2.153.1. Would you give me the link again?

new file-checker & extension for XP:
2011-04-15
- Added: To be more flexible, the filechecker now uses a list of KB-numbers which
needs the installed and enabled KB968389 (EPA). This list must be
         defined by the filechecker-extension.

****! new version of flash player again!
this time is 10.2.159.1

I'll try to make a package for hfslip and up it to my dropbox ASAP.

c ya!

Oh, BTW, There's something that's been bothering me for ages, but I haven't said anything (until now)...
The phrase "They need the installed and enabled KBxxxxx" really makes no sense in english...
It should be something more like "They require (or need) KBxxxxxx installed and enabled" or "they require that KBxxxxxx is installed and enabled"
or "they require KBxxxx to be installed and enabled"...

bye!

Ok, done.
Cab created and uploaded to my dropbox. Link is the same as before.
PD: For some reason, my cabs are slightly bigger than the ones created by others...not sure why. Don't know how to make them smaller.

in case someone is interested, I also made a package for HFSLIP64.
link is here: http://dl.dropbox.co...E_SWFlash10.zip

and, if you forgot, the link for hfslip package is this: http://dl.dropbox.co...652/SWFLASH.CAB

There is a thread used for
http://www.msfn.org/...iew__getnewpost

For smaller cab, i use two files:
swflash.ddf for settings
swflash.cmd for calling swf.ddf (double clck)

Contents:
swflash.ddf:
.Set Cabinet=on
.Set Compress=on
.Set CompressionType=LZX
.Set CompressionMemory=21
.Set FolderSizeThreshold=5000000
.Set MaxDiskSize=CDROM
.Set CabinetNameTemplate=SWFLASH.CAB
.Set DiskDirectory1=
Flash10p.ocx
FlashUtil10p_ActiveX.dll
FlashUtil10p_ActiveX.exe
swflash.inf

swflash.cmd content:
makecab /f swflash.ddf

Make sure to change the letter version id (in this case, p has replaced o):
10p
