Hi jvidal,

BTW, 888111 is NOT intended for XPSP3. It will refuse to install if running XPSP3. The KB article specifically mentions SP1 and SP2, but NOT SP3.

Yes, but Parseus noticed that it fixes audio problems (and it's just a hotfix which will not be listed by default by the file-checker)

Where did you get 2616310? MU is not asking for it. Only 2544893 and MRT (which you seem to have forgotten all about)

I frequently look into the download-center (new downloads) and there I found it.

And MSRT... I didn't forgot it but yesterday evening - when I updated the XP-list and file-checker - the new MSRT was not released. :)

Mimo, about 2616310. It replaces 982000, which -for some reason- we were including in the mix. So, I wouldn't rush into removing it just yet. If it replaces an already used update, we should first check the need for 982000 and then decide if 2616310 is needed or not.
At least you should re-add 982000 to the list (since 2616310 replaced it).
We really need to know if 982000 is really needed or not.
just my $2 cents.

Oh, and thx for the new ver.

One more thing, I believe 2641690 replaces 2616676 (v2), both update only one file: crypt32.dll.

Bye!

PD: New flash cab is available @my dropbox here: http://dl.dropbox.co...652/SWFLASH.CAB

Mimo, there's an inconsistency in the file checker that really needs checking.
If I have KB2616310, it says that is not needed, because AD is not part of an standard xp install. So, I remove it and re-add 982000, but now it says that 982000 is obsolote, replaced by kb2616310...
So, which is it????? You can't have it both ways. Like I said in a previous post, we were including 982000 for a reason, so If 2616310 replaces it, then 2616310 is required. Else WU will ask for 982000. Get the problem?
We must know why 982000 was included in the firtst place. If it's required, then replacing it with 2616310 is ok. But if 982000 is not required, then both should be removed.

I hope you can sort this out.

[

First, the message "replaced by kb2616310" was an old text. Correctly it should be "AD is not part of a standard Windows XP", If forgotton to change the texts. Also for further/older updates (see below).
I have to change it.

Like I said in a previous post, we were including 982000 for a reason, so If 2616310 replaces it, then 2616310 is required. Else WU will ask for 982000. Get the problem?

KB2616310 (MS11-086) -> KB982000 (MS10-068) -> KB973039 (MS09-066) -> MS09-018

...all of them are regarding AD. And no one of them are needed if AD (ADAM) is not installed. The info, that update xxx is not needed is given now, but the reason could confuse... (see above).

Mimo, then why were we including 982000???? IF WU asks for it, then IT IS req'd. I'm gonna have to install xpsp3 in a VM and see if 973039, 982000 or 2616310 are required.

Ok, I installed XPSP3 on a VM and none of the HFs mentioned (973039, 982000, 2616310) are required by WU. I believe it's safe to remove 'em all. Or at least flag 'em as optional.

Or at least flag 'em as optional.

Not needed unless you install Active Directory onto Windows XP, it shows as Important (high priority in WU).

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
What threw me off is that half the name was in english and the other half in turkish (Although I knew it was WUA). I think we shouldn't do partial translations of windows components, as it might lead to confussion...

c ya around!

Mimo, I see you released a "silent" update on 16/11, I must tell you this version fails miserably. It closes immediately with an error of ") wasn't expected at this time". There's nothing on your site about this new version, no changelog, nothing.

Please, fix it.

Thanks!!!

Mimo,

The problem is with the xp extension. You made a typo.

Change "IF /i !lang!==ARA ( )" to "IF /i !lang!==ARA (SET ln979099=AR)" and everything works great.

Thanks for a great tool and remember we got your back.
