I have problems installing winXP on an asus eee.
I have this situation:
[*]USB_MultiBoot.cmd can make USB-stick to be seen in XP Setup as Boot Drive U:
In this preferred case the driveletters of Harddisk Partitions and Optical Drives
will get there desired normal value.
But I can ONLY se the u: drive - not the HD I would like to install xp on.

Most probably you have a SATA drive and miss the appropriate driver in the source.
The dedicated forum to "Install Windows from USB" is casually
named "Install Windows from USB" (as opposed to "Multi-Boot CD/DVDs") and is here:

If still it doesn't work (it would be very strange, as we have a great number of positive reports from the eeePC community) see if any of the alternate methods work.
