how i can change de image setup background?

PS> I left our the FirstUXRes.wim, as even after editing it, it seemed to ignore my image,

Have to change the 1 background in the FirstUXRes.wim with my image and it looks real good cause the black background fits real nicely with the new animated logo you see below the 'Setup is preparing..' you see on a setup. You only see this on an actual setup :thumbup

I'll look at your file

Ah, well, I was using a light-ish image, so maybe that might have something to do with it. I'm gonna tinker at it, and hopefully get the FirstUXRes image sorted. Also, trying to upload a video (sped-up) to Youtube showing the whole setup with a customized background :P

Never mind, I got that problem fixed, had to tell the script to unset the read-only flag on FirstUXBackground.bmp, changed it, then re-set the flag.

Here's an updated script. Pre-edit your files, dump them in the folder and run it. Point it to your WAIK, your DVD source (extracted) and your install.wim image number, and it will do the rest

Modify Windows 7 Setup Imagery.7z

This is the first image I tried with, gonna upload a video of Setup using that image tomorrow to Youtube. Got the FirstUXRes.wim problem fixed, just had to unset read-only flag on FirstUXBackground.bmp before copying a new one over (via the script)

it's spwizimg.dll inside your boot.wim image # 2. resource bitmaps 517 and 518.

this is not correct.

The white Background by creating the Useraccount and Passwort is not in the spwizimg.dll of boot.wim (image #2).

The white Background who you can read:

Installation Windows

...

...

Updtates was installed

Installation finished

is the spwizimg.dll of boot.wim (image #2)bitmaps 516

Yes i read that guide, things he refer to is editting the *.dll.mui files. He didn't mention the background in the account screen, only editting the setup text.

To bad nobody knows what file to change to get rid of the white screen (the making an account screen). :}

Noboddy......

I think it's needed to modify the file "msoobeui.dll" ( Windows\System32\oobe\msoobeui.dll) and edit the section UIFILES!

There are the xml files to modify, like "duixml" and it's needed to add some lines.

But i've not tried... Maybe later!

I've found some help here:

http://doc.trolltech.com/3.3/designer-manual-16.html#1-10

And in French:

http://www.wikikou.fr/modifier-activites-fenetre-conversation-dossier-14.html

I hope that will help you.

However some our customizations will be changed with original files if we us: sfc /scannow

The boot logon session customized disappears and the "little Microsoft bird" appears a new time !

Because the files need also to be replaced inside winsxs folder!

And it seems the files must match the Edition (SP0 or SP1).

Cheers
