I'm trying to create a PE boot disk for Windows 7 on a 2 GB SD flash drive. My BIOS allows me to boot from my card reader (and in fact hangs during the boot process if I have a card in the reader) so that's not a problem. What I don't seem to find is a way to make the card bootable. Can anybody point me to where I can find out how to do this?

Ultra ISO can write the ISO file in the flash drive. If the iso files is bootable you can use the SD flash drive to boot. Some PE has the programe to install in the flash drive to boot.

Please do understand that you are mixing TWO different problems:
They are NOT the same thing.
#1 is relatively easy and there are a number of ways to achieve that.
#2 is relatively difficult and AFAIK has not yet been documented
Here you have a start:

- actually "making the SD bootable"
- actually booting a Windows 7 based PE (PE 3.x) from it

Which hardware do you use?
Does BIOS approach SD card as a hard disk?
Did you tried generic PE boot?

Which windows driver is used at SD reader?
Does your windows use sdbus.sys, sffdisk.sys and sffp_sd.sys?
Did you apply KB976092? http://support.micro....com/kb/976092/
- ← SSD not showing up in Win7. Problem solved.
- Windows 7
- classic search in win7 and i guess vista too →
