I have tried downloading and installing many different versions and none seem to work.
My flash player works and tests fine, but not the shockwave player, any ideas?
I use 98 and FF 2.0.0.20

Last version I have been able to make work with Windows 98SE is Adobe Shockwave Player 10.2.0.23.

Yes many users would agree with this statement as I can remember comments in the sop's AutoPatcher for 98SE thread relating to this matter. I have that version on one box but have used 10.3.0.24 on another with no problem.
However all show up as working on the Adobe Shockwave Test page, there is a Shockwave Uninstaller listed at --- http://www.adobe.com.../alternates/#sp
I have never had any cause to use it as Shockwave does show up on Add/Remove Programs ( I use Tihiy's version) but you could try an uninstall with that and a reinstall with 10.2.0.023.

I downloaded the version 10.2.0.23 and it said installation successful, and yet when I go here to test it I see nothing in the box where I am supposed to see something.

Also anyone know if you install one version of the normal flash player on say FF, then another on say I.E, then do a test on both versions using the 2 different browsers, and I see the 2 different versions being displayed by Adobe, am I right in thinking that both browsers are actually using different versions of the Flash Player?

I have now got the shockwave version to work on I.E
I am now going to try on FF.

The Flash Player requires a different download for the FF/Opera browsers from the IE browser, the IE download has the ax version(Active X), but the Player version should be the same provided you have downloaded and installed the same version on each.
