Try using a different brand of discs. Cheap discs won't always work with each drive.

Also, please don't use all caps in your topic unless World War 3 breaks out. Thanks.

u might need a firmware update
go to http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php
choose the right one
choosing the wrong one might make u're dvdrw totally unusable
when done correctly works perfectly
I've been using this page now for 3-4 years. with all of my cd/dvd roms
I had no problems... though some of my friends f'ed their cd-rw's up
so be carefull!!

ok, this may be your prob, if the burner has a feature called smart-burn and you have nero installed, it automatically burns the dvd at the optimal speed which in your case is 2x, i had the same prob, btw it was a cd burner. You can disable this in

recorder >> choose recorder >>(after highlighting the DVD burner) click options and see if that is enabled.

let us know if this works

well okay here's 1 thing
some of the black media are low quality and not supported by the dvd-rw/+rw's. so the firmware ppl set the speed to 2x as default so when the drive comes across a not supported media it will write at that speed.
no matter what u do. smart burn won't help probably
I'm experiencing this stupidity with my bad prico media.
they're 1x specific and I'm trying to write at 2x. which sometimes works sometimes doesn't..

what brand are your blank dvd's
refer to rpc1.org they've extensive knowledge on cd-rom's dvd rom's firmware's blank media capability, etc...
much like MSFN but its for cd-roms.......
