TiVo and Replay have been out for a while, but I still have yet to buy one. It just irks me that you have to pay a subscription fee, plus its not easy to get the media files to your pc and modify. I have an AIO Radeon that I can use to record TV, but it just doesnt have a good interface for an entertainment hub (and its hard for my wife to use).

I've read that PrismIQ is releasing a media player / recorder that runs from your enternainment hub and allows you to record to any storage device on your network (wired or wireless) and then stream it back (pause,RW,FW). There are some other features, such as web surfing and IM that are available, but I'm truly interested in the recording and streaming of high quality video.

Does anyone have recommendations or know of other devices that will meet my needs?
