hi all i'm thinking of getting a amd barton 2800+ xp chip. are they any good, compared to the throughbred chips? i already have a 2400+ xp throughbred and i wanna know if it's worth getting one or just staying with what i got.

You'd get 10% improvement in certain areas of work (like gaming, etc., other areas will be the same) or 15% at the most.

I wouldn't bother with such a small upgrade, unless the 2800+ was being gifted to me. Also, the Barton is less overclockable than the T-breds. If I already have a 2400+ (and I do), I'd wait until the 3200+ chips became entry-level, and then buy the 3200+.
