hi, didn't really know where to post this but here goes, here at my job we use this remote software made by Expertcity (called now GoToMyPc) . which enables us to take over a clients pc, over the internet after they download a little program, well i need to find another program like it around to use, reason being we pay 500$ a month for 1 license to it, and they're finally coming down on me to find an alternative to it. now this is the other main requirement, it must be extremely easy to connect to the users pc, we have some very stupid clients. they tried ot get us to use webex, but it would take to much time to try to get them connected. thx

vnc is free, and it's extremely easy to use, even a dumb jock could do it :)

Upgrade all your clients to XP Pro. I think you should be able to connect via the internet and as a bonus you get a nice OS.......

:)

hmm maybe i'm not being clear..my clients are using all ranges of windows they are separate companies. so i need a remote software that will enable me to have them download a small program from ie or aol or netscape and over an internet connection have me do a screen share.

and i need it to not require a direct ip considering they will be accessing from several unknown ones

Your best best is to make a solution yourself. I made a real nice solution for installing VNC (Works with RealVNC, TightVNC, and UltraVNC). I am working on one for OpenSSH on Windows. You could do this... then have them connect to you server via SSH with port forwarding enabled, and then you just connect to the port they are forwarding to on that server. It is completely free, and it meets all of your requirements.

SMS from Microsoft will do everything you want and more... but I'm certain it's quite expensive.

You're probably not going to find a corporate application like you need without shelling out the coinage. Your company just needs to accept that ;-)

thx all for the help, i found out today that we're switching to webex, they have a new support option, like what we currently have but much cheaper.
