The reg files are in there as well as a file called readme.txt, which explains how to install the codecs.

If you read the cmd file - it is commented with what section does what - likewise the codecreg.reg file included in the SYSTEM32 folder
trust this explains the Unattended Codec Pack.

TNX for this summary... It was needed.
I've copied all files in X:\XPCD_SP2\$OEM$\$$\System32 except codecs.cmd.
codecs.cmd file was copied in X:\XPCD_SP2\$OEM$\
My command is at the end of theRunonceEx file just before the regtweaks.reg and cleanup.cm command
REG ADD %KEY%\110 /VE /D "Codecs 2.2 Pack" /f REG ADD %KEY%\110 /V 06 /D "%CDROM%\Software\codecs.cmd" /f REG ADD %KEY%\115 /VE /D "Importing Registry Tweaks" /f REG ADD %KEY%\115 /V 1 /D "REGEDIT /S %CDROM%\Software\regtweaks.reg" /f REG ADD %KEY%\120 /VE /D "Cleaning Up and Rebooting" /f REG ADD %KEY%\120 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Software\cleanup.cmd" /f
Is that CORRECT???
Why are you recommanding to use Zoom Player since you include the reg assosiation for Real and QuickTime, to WMP10???
Does Zoom Player will replace all the players???
What are the silent/unattended installation switches???
Last but NOT least It is possible/recommanded to install K-Lite mega Pack too or other codecs packs???
TNX ti shed light on this thread

Like having two AV's installed; they also interfere with eachother.
Those regfiles are for WMP10.
But it is recommended to use Zoomplayer or Media Player Classic, because they can handle realmedia and quicktime files better than WMP10.
Look here for the switches for Zoomplayer:

I've been looking through the reg files and cmd in order to tidy up by using either 1 or 3 infs. In the process, I found these in codecreg.reg, and would like to know what they are there for:
;CL DVD to use Hardware acceleration in ZP [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CyberLink\Common\CLVSD\zplayer] "UIUseHVA"=dword:00000001
If we're player independant, why is this key included? can we get rid?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32] ;"vidc.DIVX"="divx.dll"
;divx 5.2.1 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DivXNetworks\DivX4Windows] ;"Support Generic Mpeg-4"=dword:00000000
;[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaResources\icm\VIDC.DIVX] ;"Description"="DivX 5.2 Pro Codec" ;"Driver"="divx.dll" ;"FriendlyName"="DivX 5.2 Pro Codec"
Why have these values been commented out?
;wert 0 sonst kein xvid
What does this mean? does it answer the above?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaResources\icm\VIDC.IV40]
Is there a reason for adding this empty key? can we remove it?
Are we sure that everything other than the editable stuff in the cmd file will play with wmplayer (Windows Media Player) using this pack etc?

The SFX archive should have default installto path using variables (like %systemdrive%, not C:).
It just seems so much easier to release it this way. get rid of all the problems ppl are having about where to put all the files...
[edit] I know it's real easy to create this - ( i even use this method myself... I store the SFX on the CD, and run it to install to system32. ) But i'm saying the pack should be released in this form.

but then people will just then blindly install it without, checking editing the cmd /regs. This could lead to incompatabilities with other batches regs etc.. and will probably increase the questions here as a result. At least when its not automated, you are more likely to then look at what your unrarring.
