Also I got it working by saving it to the desktop first. I'm using Winamp to play it. I'll probably try to get a slightly longer clip.
Thanks for the feedback.
That .RAM still didn't work for me. Winamp just sits there as if nothing happened! It might be Winamp. I'll try it in MPC.

Media Player Classic says it can't render the file.
I've even installed Real Alt but still can't play it (although I'm not sure of the validity of this test as it was Real Alt was not installed on a clean machine) but GSpot should be able to recognise the file type even if the right codec is not installed, right?
Ok it's sorted. The file was corrupted. I found another copy. I've replaced the old one now.

I'm thinking of taking a sample video and encoding using all the different codecs to get a more consistent test page up. Gonna take some work though.

With a little patience, thorough reading and maybe some help from Registering File Extensions Unattended and Unattended DirectShow Filters you can use this codec pack to setup WMP to play just about every type of media file there is!
If you're managing a lot of PCs; having only one media player to deal with beats the heck out of installing another media player everytime someone finds a new file.

What do you mean by that? Tell you exactly how to do it or that by reading the threads I mentioned you can easily setup and unattended install that will let WMP play just about any audio/video format, including .mov, .qr, .r*, sm*, .ape, .mpc, .ogg, .3gp, .avi, .mpg, .ogm, .vob, .asf to mention a few?
If you're really interested I've made up a "stand-alone" package that installs WMP, both Quick & Real Alternative, and the codec pack that you can use on any WinXP system. I'm not quite ready to post it here (also not sure how much interest there'd be or if it's even appropriate in an unattended forum).
Anyway... let me know what you're looking for and I'll see what I can do.
