My administrator account boots up fine.

But when I go to either of my Limited User accounts, there are no icons on the desktop.

What is even stranger is that the problem still occurs when I used a known image backup that worked fine.

Can someone help me restore those 2 accounts?

Thanks.

What situation do we have ? Have you
-used those 2 accounts before (with shortcuts on desktop) on that same OS?
-applied image with 2 profiles (and shortcuts) already existing on disk but no shortcut appear when loging ?
-applied image with existing accounts but profiles are created at login and desktop directory is empty? What about "all users" and "default user" then ?

I ended reformating and re-installing XP.

Not being able to start explorer.exe on two accounts along with very slow behavior on the Admin account is what led to the above.
