Sp0iLedBrAt
Is there a minimum requirement for free space on a HDD in order to install Windows 7 like there was in XP, along with warnings? I read somewhere that you should have at least 15 or 16GB.Thank you

Sp0iLedBrAt
Thanks, Kel.Now, I think there was something in nLite that suppressed Windows install from checking if that requirement was met. Is there something like that for Windows 7?Cheers
Kelsenellenelvian
Not that I know of.It install in 10gb and had 3+ gigs free space.I have lowered it to 8gb and am trying now.Got a "the recommended minimum space is 8376mb" but it let me continue.update:it installed with the less than recommended amount. I will try 7 gigs but it is really getting pushed here...Further update:It is installing on a 7gb drive. As far as I can tell there is no small drive block it will let you continue no matter what. Kelsenellenelvian
Installed Win7 Starter in a 6.5gb hardrive!Disabled hibernate. "powercfg /hibernate off"Final space use?5.16 gb used space. 1.22 gb free space.Remember Win7 makes a seprate 100mg partition in this too. So in all actuality it is a 6.4 gb drive. Sp0iLedBrAt
Installed Win7 Starter in a 6.5gb hardrive! As far as I'm concerned, being able to go under 10GB for an x86 version is more than enough for me.Remember Win7 makes a separate 100mg partition in this too. Yes, I'm aware of that, but it's good to know.My gratitude for your time
