Hi there
let me explain the situation.
I live in the dorms and we've a bandwidth limit of 1.5gb per week. this sucks.
but if i go to the computer lab i can dl anthing at any size.
what I usually do is I go to the labs and after dling it (or while dling it) I save it to my hdd on the network.
this might seem okay, but if i have a long dl I've to actually sit in front of the computer in the labs and move the mouse or whatever. if It stays for a while (i think 5-10 min it logs me out even if i lock the station.)
so my question is. Is there any way that I can remote request any of the computers to dl a file and save it to either mine or its own hdd.
i can remotly connect to unix machine's but never tried to connect to windows machine from home
I can connect from the lab computers to my computer using VNC. I haven't tried the other way around since I don't really think it would work bc of 2 reasons. I don't have admin rights to install some programs. 2. even if i install it, it'll be under my profile so i've to log into that computer

pls help this lazy fella :)

2.unless you install vnc as a service. un plug the screen so people think the computer is broken, then just control it from your room. i control mine from school.

also, gamehead200 has some sort of disk to modify accounts or something. he's been warned against using it at school cuz hes the only one with one. ask him.

EDIT: if you can find a way to move the mouse every 10 minutes, you can install a program called kazaa scanner, it will automaticaly move any new files in the download directory to a directory you specify on any computer.

well that's another problem. I don't think i'm able to add any services. I cannot add anything to registry.
my school has 120,000 students overall. I think they like being secure
but u just reminded me that the printers are connected to the small mainframe computer in the lab. If i have access to it i'll try to install vnc, though i doubt it.

wow gamehead200 ~ hacker :)

edit: i tried vbs script to type things, i haven't tried moving the mouse i'll try that.
again for kazaa scanner i'd have to install it for my profile.
well everything would resolve if i can fool ppl that a computer is broken...
Thanks.

I believe I have a "Mousemover" application on my hard drive. If you want it let me know. You have my Aim name, Xtreme.
