BlackWingCat,

Can you log in in Chrome / SRWare Iron using a Google account? The browser crashes when trying to do so:

Thanks for a quick answer. I wonder if this problem is also caused by kernel incompatibilities...

I'm looking forward to try the English version of v16 kernel.

You were right about the log-in problem. I've just tested it in a Korean version of Win2k where I forcibly installed your JPN kernel and after that I could log-in into a Google Account from SRWare Iron. Unfortunately it didn't have any effect on the problem described above (#155) :( The browser still freezed and I don't know if it's a Windows 2000 issue or if there's a problem in the MSFN forum's Messenger.

Hi Blackwingcat,

I tried your new driver videoprt.sys 5.0.2195.6825 (KB829884-v3) in an installation of W2K in virtual machine (VMPlayer 4.0.3).

At reboot I have a BSOD.

http://ge.tt/68t62QJ/v/0?c

If I use previous file 5.0.2195.6824 (KB829884) no problem.

Regards.

I reported this problem.

It is VMWare Player's driver's bug.

Plz see this article.

I can confirm BlackWingCat's words that there are no problems with the update on a real computer and also no problems in a VirtualBox VM.

Hi Blackwingcat

no hope for an italian (language) version of the extended kernel ?

I've downloaded the last english version (Windows2000-KB935839-v15r-x86-ENU) and...

i was thinking to modding all the eng. res. replacing them with those already present in the original ita version (5.0.2195.7135).

Do you think that could work ?

thanks in advance and...

Files in European versions of Win2k are exchangeable. You can even install the English kernel in your system but then some parts of it will change into English.

And almost dlls are different Base Addresses.

So I think we must convert them.

I've successfully installed:

1) English updates in a Polish system = no problem

2) Your JPN kernel in a Korean system = no problem

3) Other people installed WildBill's kernel in a French and German systems = no problems

I believe European languages are exchangeable and East Asian languages also (at least Korean and Japanese for sure). It means you can apply an English update to a Polish system and also you can apply a Japanese update to a Korean system but you mustn't apply an English update to a Japanese system and vice versa. There are also some language neutral files that are shared by all language versions of Windows.

I'm searching Windows 2000 Italic Version wtsapi32.dll.

It seems English version, but there is a little difference.

I released Extended Kernel v17b English and Traditional Chinese Version.

What's Changing.

Use XP's dssenh.dll, rsaeng.dll, esent97.dll, sccbase.dll and sccsccp.dll.

Extended XP's esent.dll for Windows 2000.

Stubbed function CoInternetIsFeatureEnabled and CoInternetSetFeatureEnabled in urlmon.

Added functions EngIsSemaphoreOwned and EngBugCheckEx in win32k.sys

v17b added win32k.sys which version is 5.0.2195.7398 . And It is different from WINDOWS2000-KB2479628-V9-X86-ENU.)

(At first I enclosure KB2479628 version (v17 and v17a). But It has a problem , so I replaced it.)

You can use Google Chrome Sync by v17 kernel. :)

I released Extended Kernel v17b English and Traditional Chinese Version.

Thanks BlackWingCat. I think there's something wrong though...

1. Automatic Updates service cannot start:

5otdr.png

2. There's an error during uninstallation:

OrnQO.png

You can use Google Chrome Sync by v17 kernel. :)

Thanks. It works now :thumbup

I actually found an error as well with the new kernel as well, the English one anyway. Now surprisingly, I get a breakpoint error when trying to launch Google Chrome and I've also been getting nagged about esent.dll being a bad image just like tomasz86's image, but it wasn't during uninstall that I received it but actually at any random time. I couldn't even open the Add/Remove programs because it would just hang there with a gray box. But uninstalling almost ruined my system but I have gotten back from it. This is v17b's package as well.

Hi Blackwingcat,

No problem but...How?

I don't know nothing about uploading sites (I don't upload very much)

Which site do you think is best among the huge amount of bloated sites that populate the internet universe?

Or... do you prefer that i send it to you in an eMail ? (in that case, please tell me at which adress)

Thx.

I fixed it on v17c.

I could't notify the error on my WIndows Update v5.4.

The installer may stop with bad esent.dll If you overwrite update.

You can choice from two ways.

a) Plz terminate secedit.exe with taskmgr.

B) Retry install after uninstall v17b.

(WFP may overwrites older SP4 files.)

I released Extended Kernel v17b English and Traditional Chinese Version.

I found that Windows File Protection overwrites Older Filer from %systemroot%\ServicePackFiles, If we installed Unofficial Roll Package.

For example if %systemroot%\ServicePackFiles includes IE 5 shell files, we could not run explorer.exe.

So I reinstall Unofficial Roll Package with running command line (cmd.exe ).

On Other my system I delete folder %systemroot%\ServicePackFiles.
