I've tried out this program (started from hirens boot cd) on a Dell Optiplex 790, with an original 7 enterprise x64 SP1 .wim file. When I deploy it without changing any other settings, it works fine, but if I deploy it and try to add drivers (http://en.community....driver-cab.aspx or the general dell desktop pack, same problem), it fails.
It deploys, it reboots, but the screen stays black but you see the mouse pointer (not always tho'). you can't do anything (ctrl alt del, powerbutton on the pc to get a clean reboot etc doesn't work), only turn of the power/hold in the powerbutton. If you turn it on again, the problem is exactly the same.
Any idea what could be wrong?
EDIT: nevermind, I had the pc connected with the imageport and vga (tried the imageport first but didn't seem to work, so used vga), what caused the problem once in windows when the drivers got installed

Yes you can
Win 8 Setup ISO was mounted via R-mouse in ImDisk Virtual drive
and then WinNTSetup was used to prepare the Target drive.
Reboot and then Install of Windows 8 is extremely fast (a few minutes).

MicroXP is a WAREZ release.
As such it is not supported in ANY way on MSFN.
Be VERY aware of Rule #1.a:

If you want to put your OWN, licensed XP on a USB stick you'd better use this tool here:

or the good ol' way (automated):

Are you still developing it? I would add a save/load button for ease of use.
Is there anyway to add the features mentioned in this program? http://www.911cd.net...showtopic=12201
When I install Windows XP, I want to sometimes use the customers key instead of loading my own unattended file...yeah I know I could just edit the unattended file before loading it, but anyway more features cant hurt.

Like I said, the option to load a settings file, that basically are the settings from the unattended and present it in a GUI so the user can change some options on the fly instead of editing and saving template files.

You can load /save settings with CTRL +S and CTRL +L
XP Setup Launcher, I don't know this tool and screen shots and download links aren't working anymore.
If this all about having gui options for unattended file then no won't be integrated.
You could easily create your own editor tools for this with autoit3, that could do exactly what you want.

1. select your windows distribution
2. choose a installation partition
3. push the setup button
hmm, maybe not my biggest talent to explain things...
Could you make a list of questions that arise while using the tool? So i can address every thing that is not so clear.

Great tool. I'm using it to install WIN7 from unpacked iso from folder on USB key and I have a question.
My setup finishes OK, unattended works great. However it looks like the $oem$ folders from sources\$oem$\$$\setup\scripts\.. and setupcomplete.cmd doesnt get copied and run from %system% folder.
Tried same setup from DVD and everything was OK. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Seems I forgot the $OEM$ folder for Vista and newer windows version.
Will be fixed in next release.

I'm new to WinNTSetup2, I think it's a great utility and I'm looking forward to using it (from my "Master" USB, which is a bootable WinPESE v17 USB stick, with all my backups in Truecrypt containers, extra software, OS ISO's etc).
So far, I've done two major tests, one for XP and one for W7. It would be very nive if you could help me a little with the following:
This is what I do:
(1) Boot my test-laptop (HP nc6320, one HD) from USB stick using WinPE SE v17.
(2) Disk management: Format HD: One partition, format NTFS, active
(3) Run OSFMount, this mounts my W7 (untouched MSDN) setup image to F:\
(4) Start WinNTSetup2 as follows:
WinNTSetup2_x86.exe -nt6 -source:f:\sources\install.wim -syspart:c: -setup -unattend:"autounattend.xml" -savedriveletters
This is working nicely, with just one issue: My systemdrive is now called D:
I tried the above setup without the "savedriveletters", it didn't help.
I'm running out of ideas, even though I've been reading a lot of stuff about this issue. Can anybody give me some hints to test out?
My ultimate goal is to make a little AutoIt/AutoHotkey script to automate the install, looks like I'm very close, if I could only get the driveletter right...
