I created a silent Firefox 0.8 exe with instructions from this thread:
Mozilla Firefox 0.8 (silent install done)

It uses the NSIS install method. Just use /S to install it. It installs in ?:\Program Files\Firefox and creates shortcuts in the start menu, quick launch, desktop and an entry in the add/remove programs.

If someone would host this file I will upload it, otherwise download NSIS 2.0, the .zip and paugg's/Seb's scripts and you can do it yourself, customizing it further... :)

If I wanted to do some research, I could find out how to add switches and choose which stuff to install, but for now I don't know how to parse the command line and do stuff..

I've installed Firefox 0.9 unattended:

-extract the packed .exe file (start and then copy all files from the temp directory)
-edit config.ini:
Run Mode=Silent
Show Dialog = False

There are several "Show Dialog" entries. You have to try them until the installer says "installation successful" or something like that.

After round about 20sec you have to kill the setup-application with "tskill setup" from the command line.

My install.cmd:

start %systemdir%\install\thunderbird\Setup.exe
start /wait %systemdir%\install\thunderbird\sleep.exe 20
start /wait tskill setup
exit

The file sleep.exe is from the Windows XP Resource Kit.
