I'm using an XP SP-2 OEM disk and Nlite 1.4.9.1 and am trying to slipstream SP-3 in to it.
When it gets to the part where it is slipstreaming the service pack, it starts, runs thru some files, starts again and stops with an error: Extraction Failed, File is corrupt. It always seems to stop on the same file from the I386 directory: I386\earl.ac_

I've tried both pointing the Nlite setup to the install CD and I've tried first copying the install cd to a folder, but it made no difference. The install CD always seems to work fine when I use it to install XP SP-2, so I don't think there's anything wrong with the disk. (It's a genuine MS install CD)

Is there something else I can try?

Thank you.

If it's not the CD, then it must be the SP3 file. Google for MD5, SHA1 or any kind of sum and compare them in sizes and sums. This is the site you should have it from http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en

Cheers

As to the CD, make an ISO image to your PC and use that as a source, so you don't damage the actual CD. Later, if it takes up space, you can always delete it.
Please provide more info about the SP3 file; what is the size and the MD5/SHA1 check sum?
Get this http://www.md5summer.org/md5v12011.zip and check the MD5 of the SP3 file you have.
It should be: BB25707C919DD835A9D9706B5725AF58
IF you find a SHA-1 or CRC32 checker (any of the three will do), the numbers are the following:
CRC32: C411A9DA
SHA-1: C81472F7EEEA2ECA421E116CD4C03E2300EBFDE4

Here is the result, however I'm not really certain I used the program correctly-I was a bit confused about how to do it.

WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe 3a85de42bec266e4eb8a717d474b3864

It doesn't match what you posted, perhaps if you could give me a few pointers on how to properly use the program I could make sure I'm doing it right.

Edit:
Just tried another MS Win XP SP-2 CD, and it failed as well, at the same point. There must be something wrong with the SP-3 download, but I'm going to the link that was referenced, plus I also tried looking for SP-3 "manually" on the MS site, and it took me to the same page.

Second Edit:
Downloaded SP-3 (again) from the same site, but this time the Nlite extraction worked ok!
Don't know what the problem was; I had downloaded it 3 times yesterday (after deleting the previous one), and each time it failed to complete the extraction.

Made the disc ok, so "all's well that ends well", I guess.

Thanks for the suggestions.
