Hi!

I have a problem when ingergrated the IE8 into WinXP SP3.

Hfslip slipstreams the IE8 into WinXP SP3 with no errors. But when i install the new WinXP, it always got an error during the installation.

If i skip these errors, the installation can be done. After the installation, it will reboot again and again.
The intergrated with IE7 is OK, no problem. IE8 just can't work. I don't know why.
I use the Hfslip 1.7.9, slipstream the oringal WinXP SP3 with IE8 only, without any update or software.
Can anyone give me a way to solve this problem? Thank!

Don't know this problem but you should give the latest HFSLIP a try:

I using the lasest version of hfslp 1.7.10-j & 1.7.10-j v4. The situation was still the same.
I tried the WinXP SP3 English version with ie8 eng, didn't work.
I tried to slipstream on another computer, did't work.
I tried to slipstream ie8 with ie8 hotfixes, didn't work.
I tried to put the iertutil.dll on hfexpert folder. There was no error during the installation. But after the installation, it will reboot again and again.

I don't get it. What's wrong? Am i be cursed?
Seem you don't have same problem. How do you do that, if you just want to intergrate the ie8 into WinXP SP3? Thanks!

I could try it also to slipstream just IE8 into Win XP SP3 (a Win XP Pro with SP3 already integrated - from MS). But I can't promise that I can do it these days...

Do you created your XP-SP3 cd by yourself?

Just an idea: If this problem was caused by the System where you run HFSLIP, you could install a vanilla XP Pro in a Virtual Machine an run HFSLIP in the VM. I would install this XP in the VM which you will youse for HFSLIP.

Well, I don't really know what is your problem but I notice in your HFTOOLS folder, you do not have HFANSWER.INI. (It's an answer file use by HFSlip)

My HFANSWER.INI goes like this
DRIVERCOMP=F
SBOOTPATH=
MBOOTPATH=
DELCATS=
BACKUPSOURCE=
NOLOGCOPY=1

ISONAME=HFLiteXP_
ISOTITLE=
FORCECDIMAGE=
CDIMGSW=-h -j1 -m
MKISSW=-relaxed-filenames -d -D -N -J -no-emul-boot -no-iso-translate -boot-load-size 4
MAKENOISO=
OVERWRITEISO=

IE7BACKUP=
IE7GUILOGON=
IE7SVCPACK=

INCWMPCSKIN=
INCALLSKINS=

XPIZESW=
FORCEXPIZESLIP=

INSTALLRC=

I noticed there is no mkisofs.exe or CDIMAGE.exe in HFTOOLS folder. How do you create the said ISO? Is is use by HFSLIP to create ISO after slipstreaming automatically. (provided it is set in HFANSWER.INI)
HFTOOLS folder should also contain boot.bin (Sorry, can't remember why need it there, way too long to remember why...LOL)

yes, very magic...

should not make a difference. Sometimes I use it (with just one or two lines), sometimes not (when I want to start a HFSLIP-run w/o my default-options). Makes no difference in result...

It's the data which makes the CD bootable (extracted from an original XP-installation-CD!). :D

HFANSWER.INI

I never used that. And seems it is not necessary.

CDIMAGE.exe
I never used that too. I used UltraISO to edit the ISO.

Thank you for your help!

The WinXP SP3 cd is official version. Not SP2+SP3. I even tried another WinXP SP3 cd. Not working.

This afternoon, i did it again on a pure Winxp system by VirtualBox. The result was still the same.
I think it may not caused by hfslip or system. It may caused by some needed components. However i don't know what it is.
The process of slipstream showed no error. The ie8.cat can be found on i386\SVCPACK folder. It should can work.

It seems like a problem by removing screensavers by nLite.

Did you remove anything "by hand" or third party program on each session?

Did you download and verified update files for the right language?

Did you downloaded once again the update files to an empty folder?

I've tested it : Win XP SP3 PRO (in which IE8 was slipped in)

I have the following differences:
- no extract.exe in HFTOOLS (don't have CAB-Addons)
- boot.bin + cdimage.exe in HFTOOLS (to get an ISO easily)
- Driver-Option F (I think you used A,B or C, I wanted it faster)

No problem during installation!

Don't have any further idea... :(

Probably this could give a hint: http://www.msfn.org/...tildll-at-t-13/ ???

Same configuration. But Win XP SP3 PRO is orignal offical version with ie6, not ie8.
Still can't work.

I saw this topic: 142698-xp-home-install-bug-iertutildll-at-t-13
Yes, my situation is the same. But don't know how to solve it...

What I wanted to say before was, that I use Win XP SP3 Pro (of course with IE6 inside) for HFSLIP (to integrate IE8)
